It seems like all of our electronics at home are breaking! In the last few months our TV, dvd player, vacuum, phone and even my watch have all broken. I am afraid that after I have said this out loud I've jinxed myself and something else will give out. The sad thing is that all of these appliances are only a few years old. Why don't things last like the old days when appliances lasted for 20 years?
I must give some credit to Sony though. The Sony Wega we bought 2 years ago was having a light pink strip across the top which discolored the top 3 inches of the picture. After going through some run around with Customer Service they said they would repair the expensive part or give us a credit toward a new TV for what we paid for our old TV. The TVs seem to have a defect since all of the similar models also have problems around 2 years. Since we don't know if the TV will last much longer, we decided to take them up on the replacement offer. We are going to let the kids watch the old TV upstairs and we will have a nicer TV downstairs. It ended up working out pretty well and I was really impressed that Sony would stand by their product. It is such a rare thing these days. Buy Sony!

We just replaced a part to our garage door opener-it's 5 years old! The repairman mentioned they're made cheaper. So frustrating!
